Your logbook is yours: it follows you, and you can use it without belonging to a school.
Log a flight
- Choose the round + button at the bottom right of the screen, then choose Log Flight. The button isn't shown on the Manage, Organizations, Billing, Reports and People pages.
- The Log New Flight form opens. To fill it from a booking, pick one under Scheduled Flight (Optional). The date comes from the flight's check-in, and Total Time (hrs) is filled from it when there is one.
- Otherwise enter the Date. You can't pick a day in the future.
- Enter Total Time (hrs), in tenths of an hour.
- Choose the Aircraft, the Flight Type and the Flight Conditions.
- Enter the Departure Airport and Arrival Airport. Both are required and take a 3 or 4 character identifier, for example KPHX or 05C.
- Fill in Day Ldgs and Night Ldgs. Both are required, and 0 is fine. Then fill in the time categories that apply: PIC, SIC, Dual Rcvd, Solo, XC, Night, Act. Inst and Sim. Inst.
- If an instructor was with you, pick them under Instructor (Optional). You can also add Remarks and Maneuvers Practiced (Optional).
- Choose Log Flight.
The form is marked with an asterisk (*) for required fields. If you don't see the + button, your role can't log flights.
Find and change your entries
- Open Logbook in the sidebar.
- Open Flight Entries. If you are an instructor, your own flights are under My Flights.
- Narrow the list with the date range and Clear Filter.
- Choose View on an entry to see its details.
- To change your own entry, choose Edit Entry in its details.
Instructor verification
An entry with dual instruction time needs an instructor's signature before the hours count as official. Until then it shows Awaiting Instructor Verification. Instructors verify entries from Review, under To verify & sign.
Once an instructor has verified an entry, it shows Instructor Verified — Entry Locked and you can no longer edit it. To change it, ask the instructor who verified it.
Bring in an older logbook
On the Logbook page, open the Import / Export menu at the top right and choose Import logbook. The same menu has Export CSV and Export PDF.
Import logbook only appears when you have a personal logbook. School administrators who aren't pilots see the Export menu with Export CSV and Export PDF only.
